JOB SUMMARY:
Pretrial Services Manager is responsible for a diverse set of administrative tasks, including office management (personnel), supervision of defendants, maintaining communication with Judges, Court Administration, law enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, Treatment Services and other treatment providers, GPS monitoring providers, the Public Defender’s Office, and other attorneys as related to the supervision/compliance of defendants with conditional bonds. Male applicants preferred due to the need to collect drug screen samples from male program participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the director in the following:
- Supervision and hiring of employees as well the maintenance of appropriate personnel documentation.
- Ensure employees follow current Hall County Employee policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Ensuring that Pretrial Officer(s) and administrative staff are sufficiently trained to undertake the duties and responsibilities of their position.
- Ensure all employees perform their duties consistent with office standards.
- Maintain professional communication with the necessary courts in Hall and Dawson County, Court Administration, Hall and Dawson County law enforcement agencies, and other court agencies as appropriate. When not available in the Pretrial Office it is expected that communication be maintained through County issued cell phone.
- Ensure Pretrial Officer(s) are timely in reviewing caseloads and taking appropriate actions to accurately supervise caseload, including using Tier System protocol.
- Supervise high-risk offenders through Tier System protocol and court ordered conditions.
- Daily review of Hall County Detention Center booking logs to monitor for new arrests or bond violations of defendants being supervised by Pretrial. Ensure appropriate action is taken as necessary.
- Knowledgeable of electronic monitoring and GPS protocol.
- Assist with phone calls, Supervise drugs screens, office visits, and defendant reporting.
- Review assigned caseload for compliance.
- Attend Drug Court and other Court hearings as necessary or directed.
- Review defendants in custody and submit for judicial review as necessary.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
- Perform other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field and a minimum of four years experience, with two years in a supervisory capacity.
Licenses and Certifications:
A valid Driver’s License is required to facilitate transportation between necessary work locations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to be detail- oriented and work well under pressure.
Knowledge of software and keyboarding for Word Processing, data entry, email, computers and report compilation.
Ability to attend training for Court procedures as deemed necessary.
Skill in the use of computer software and automated systems to perform record checks, compile criminal history information, and conduct similar activities.
